SüpKüp

Project Breif:

The SüpKüp project was consumer product, pitched to NBL as “A tumbler that you don't have to wash” and “A reusable coffee sleeve”.

The pitch specified that the product must retain a beverage's heat for at least 2 hours and cost the consumer no more than $50. I was the principal designer assigned to the project and after a week of concept revisions we settled on the product's form and began R&D.

Design & Engineering

Starting with some conceptual drawings provided by the client, I began building CAD models that could be simulated with a wide range of paper coffee cups to determine compatibility.

Initial physical models were 3D printed in-house and rapidly pushed the design forward.

After three months, 191 design revisions, and over 25 3D printed prototypes, we had a final design that met the project specifications and was ready for production.

Marketing

We produced a production grade model of the SüpKüp for final testing and marketing.

With a marketing material budget of $2k I produced a media kit for this project including the photography, videography, and website within four weeks of receiving the completed production units.

The media kit was produced with Kickstarter's guidlines in mind as this was our chosen primary marketing channel for the project. Using industry standard practices and some creative photography we produced eye catching content that was featured on our Kickstarter page and was later picked up by multiple news outlets.
