Oakfire Ridge is a hospitality venue located in Bulverde TX, just 25 minutes north of San Antonio's loop 1604. In 2019, while working in the telecom industry I was the technician assigned to the Oakfire Ridge account.
We were brought into the development by the project owner in early 2019 and I performed all of the design and installation of the $10M property's telecom and security infrastructure. I consulted with the development's management team and helped define their needs for the property, after a few days of discussion we had formed a detailed plan to implement multiple technologies into the project including, fiberoptics, microwave radio, and copper network solutions.
Two years later I received an offer by Oakfire Ridge to come onboard as the property director with expectations to continue building out the facilities networks, maintain the equipment and participate in designing the Oakfire brand for use as an exclusive private speakeasy club.
After demonstrating my design and engineering skills shortly after coming on board I was named Director of Industrial Design and helped direct the team to build some of the properties key attractions.
The property consists of three primary buildings, two auxiliary buildings one of which is a state inspected Public Water System which required remote management equipment to be installed in compliance with TCEQ and two mobile structures that required network access on the fly while on property.
Redundancy was another point of concern as the site's point of sale system needed a stable connection at all times. The solution that was installed consisted of a fiber link between the primary switch and each of the buildings network closets, this connection was supported by a microwave backup link that also served as an available access point for the auxiliary buildings and mobile structures.
Finally the property was serviced by a seamless mesh WiFi network that was accessible to end users and company devices.

I had selected the Ubiquiti Unifi network platform for the property as it was the most streamlined solution to integrate networking and site security into one system. We utilized Uquiti's tech for the user accessible and our fiber backend used some of Ubiquiti's GPON technology to support reliable connections to the various nodes on property.
During my time in telecom, I worked on municipal fiber networks that were built with GPON technology, so I was experienced and comfortable with industry standard practices when it came time to deploy the system.
The 43 club was a brand that I participated in the making of. After Oakfire's completion I was in charge of designing the company's brand for an exclusive membership to the speakeasy club that the owners wanted to use the property for.
I created the logos, membership cards, marketing material, branding elements and was the spokesperson for the club. I handled every member's acquisition and personally made each member's card.
I held a key role in our marketing efforts, running Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Print Ads, Large Signage and direct marketing through membership invitations.
